Having a strong partner who believes in you can make the difference between success and failure. At SANCB, we’re grateful to all our donors for standing by our side and helping us transform the lives of visually impaired children.
We’ve recently forged important partnerships with Umsimbithi Mining and Nestlé under our school screening programme. These companies share your and our vision of fighting visual impairment among school children.
Our partnership with Umsimbithi Mining, a subsidiary of Glencore Mines, has helped us take eye care services to 5 schools in Emakhazeni, Mpumalanga. Since November 2018, we’ve screened 1 147 learners. Of these, 251 learners were treated for minor ailments, 60 for refractive errors, and 58 learners received spectacles.
Under our partnership with Nestlé, we’ve screened 1 882 learners in Estcourt and Harrismith since November 2017. Of these children, 736 were treated for minor ailments; 217 for refractive errors and 208 received spectacles.
Thanks to our partners, this programme is having great success in transforming the lives of children who were living with undiagnosed eye conditions.
We extend our sincere thanks to all our partners, large and small, for supporting our efforts in preventing childhood blindness. We can achieve great things when we work together. Thank you!
