The past 93 years have seen many changes. We’ve moved our head office from our birth city of Cape Town to Pretoria, and have brought over 80 member organisations into our fold.
Under the steady guidance of SANCB leaders, the services we offer the blind and partially sighted community have grown tremendously. Our core focus areas are advocacy, inclusion, prevention and support; and we’ve created skills development programmes across South Africa’s nine provinces.
Our head office, in Bailey’s Muckleneuk, hosts the following divisions:
- Assistive Technology Centre
- Bureau for the Prevention of Blindness
- Fundraising and Marketing
- National Help Desk
- Optima College
- Strategic Management
The wings of SANCB – South African Blind Women in Action (SABWIA) and South African Blind Youth Organisation (SABYO) – are actively rolling out activities and projects in and around their communities.
With your continued support, our legacy will continue to grow and thrive.
Thank you for hearing our call to create a better life for blind and partially sighted persons.
