“My first long-term job was selling paper. Then I opened Zak’s Stationers in Durban in May 2009. By God’s grace it worked. It’s been going 10 years and employs five people,” Zak says.
Zak has attended Optima College four times: three times in his youth for short enrichment courses; and later for a three- month computer course.
These courses helped him prepare for life after school.
“Training is essential in a world that’s changing so fast. We have to invest more in education to help visually impaired persons obtain jobs or start their own businesses.”
We thank all our donors for keeping the doors of Optima open – and for supporting entrepreneurs like Zak.
